About
About the Podcast
Welcome to the Embedded AI Podcast - exploring AI in embedded systems with a pragmatic, no-hype approach.
We cover AI in embedded systems from two angles:
- AI on embedded devices - traditional ML, edge computing, predictive maintenance, IoT applications
- AI for embedded developers - using LLMs and AI tools effectively in your development workflow
This podcast is about learning together. We’ll share what we’ve learned (often the hard way), bring on guests who’ve figured things out, and give you a clear-eyed view of what’s actually happening in this space.
You’ll hear us discuss the latest trends and buzzwords, but we’re here to look behind them and show you what actually works in practice.
Expect frank conversations, practical insights, and plenty of mistakes to learn from - ours and others'.
Your Hosts
Ryan Torvik has an aerospace engineering background and works on AI-assisted development tools. He’s been experimenting with everything from VS Code extensions to getting LLMs to write STM32 code (with mixed results).
Luca Ingianni works in embedded systems with a focus on avionics and testing. He’s also the host of the Agile Embedded Podcast. His eye twitches when people say “vibe coding,” but he acknowledges AI is here to stay.
What to Expect
Sometimes it’s just the two of us. Sometimes we bring on one, two, or even three guests. We’ve already got a page and a half of topic ideas, covering everything from:
- Contrail detection in satellite imagery
- AI-assisted rocket launch coordination
- Sound-based predictive maintenance
- Test-driven development with AI
- The changing role of embedded engineers
- Security considerations for edge AI
- And yes, the occasional rant about LLM-generated code
